Default $2,500 for OVSCA double header weekend

OHIO VALLEY SPRINT CAR ASSOCIATION

OVSCA GEARS UP FOR TWO-RACE WEEKEND
HUGE EVENTS AT BECKLEY AND I-77

STEWART, OHIO- The Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association points' battle is heating up as the series' tour rolls into Beckley Motorsports Park, Friday, July 16 and I-77 Motorsports Park (Fairplane, WV), Saturday, July 17. Beckley will pay $2,500 to win the 25-lap feature.
Currently, Kory Crabtree, at just 15 years of age is the points leader (904 points) over veteran Jimmy Stinson (862 points). Dave Dickson is well within reach of the crown with 819 points. The winner of the series this season will have the distinction of being the inaugural series champion for the powerful 410 Outlaw style sprint cars.
Last week, Benton Ridge, Ohio Invader Greg Wilson and Piketon, Ohio's Jimmy Nier claimed the 30-lap $2,000 to win 410 sprint features of the OVSCA (July 9-10) respectively at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio and Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV.
The OVSCA features the "world's most powerful race cars" on a stage normally reserved for stock car racing fans. In an effort to grow the sport, excited fans all over the Tri-State area are seeing quality sprint car racing; some of which are seeing the open wheelers for the very first time. Beckley fans will see the explosive open wheelers for the second time. During the June race at BMP fans packed the 3/8 mile speedplant and greeted the sprint cars with a standing ovation.
This will be the first time-ever for the tour on the fast 3/8 mile clay oval at I-77 Motorsports Park. Track promoter Kenny Newhouse said, "Fans have looked forward to this race for weeks. There is much anticipation as to what the sprinters will do here. We anticipate a new track record and we are sure our fans will not be disappointed. I am anxious to see the sprints here and can't wait until Saturday night."
The ever-growing series continues to draw some of the best names in the sprint car business, and with this year's success the OVSCA office has received a wealth of calls from driver's wishing to enter into the points' race for the 2011 season. Said OVSCA President Billy Jarrell, "We have exceeded the expectations of what we had for the first year. When you start something new, especially a big-time sprint series in an economy like today, people tend to be tentative. This year has been a great success and all indications are that next year will be exponentially bigger and better."
Mathmatically, the top 15 cars could still pull off the points' title, however, the top nine cars are best poised for a championship run. Besides Crabtree, Stinson, and Dickson, the OVSCA features a line-up of Aaron Higgins, Greg Mitchell, Andre Layfield, Charlie Fisher, Josh Davis, Keith Baxter, Chris Myers, Wes McGlumphy, Danny Smith, Jimmy Nier, Brian Benson, Sam and Tim Mosher, Eddie Miller, Freddie Staats, Bryce Dickson, and Sam Ashworth among others. From time to time national stars race with the OVSCA and on any given night anyone might show up for the high-dollar purses.
Nearly $20,000 has been raised for the series point fund and sprint track champions at Skyline Speedway will enjoy awards typical of those in the past in addition to the series point fund payout. Details of the points and other series policy will be available on the OVSCA website at << http://www.ovsprintcars.com/ >> .
